El Centro Acreditado por el Instituto Cervantes de la Universidad de Panamá se enfoca en tres áreas: la aplicación de exámenes para la obtención de Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE), las pruebas de Conocimiento Constitucionales y Socioculturales de España (CCSE) y el proyecto del Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española (SIELE).
Los diplomas DELE están reconocidos internacionalmente y gozan de un gran prestigio, no solo entre instituciones y autoridades educativas públicas y privadas, sino también en el mundo empresarial. Son una garantÃa oficial en la evaluación y certificación de las competencias lingüÃsticas en español. Anualmente realizamos tres convocatorias de exámenes. La prueba CCSE ha sido elaborada por el Instituto Cervantes (IC) para evaluar el conocimiento de la Constitución y la realidad social y cultural española, requisito indispensable para la concesión de la nacionalidad española a los sefardÃes originarios de España y para la obtención de la nacionalidad española por residencia. El SIELE es un proyecto iberoamericano creado e impulsado por el Instituto Cervantes (IC), la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y la Universidad de Salamanca (USAL), en alianza con Telefónica Educación Digital (TED), que tiene como objetivo evaluar y certificar el conocimiento del español como lengua extranjera, asà como las competencias lingüÃsticas de hablantes nativos, por medios digitales.

Cursos ELE: español como lengua extranjera
El Centro de Lenguas Carmen Guadalupe Córdoba de la Universidad de Panamá (CELUP) realiza cursos de español como lengua extranjera semestrales, cuyos niveles se corresponden con los establecidos en el Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas (MCER):
INICIAL A1
Este diploma acredita que la persona puede desenvolverse en situaciones de comunicación sencilla, relativa a áreas de necesidad inmediata o a temas muy cotidianos.
INICIAL A2
Acredita que el candidato es capaz de comprender frases y expresiones cotidianas de uso frecuente relacionadas con áreas de experiencia que le son especialmente relevantes (información básica sobre sà mismo y su familia, compras, lugares de interés, ocupaciones, etc.)
INTERMEDIO B1
Acredita la competencia lingüÃstica suficiente para comprender y reaccionar adecuadamente ante las situaciones más habituales de la vida cotidiana y para comunicar deseos y necesidades de forma básica.
INTERMEDIO B2
Acredita la competencia lingüÃstica suficiente para desenvolverse en las situaciones corrientes de la vida cotidiana, en circunstancias normales de comunicación que no requieran un uso especializado de la lengua.Â
SUPERIOR C1
Acredita la competencia lingüÃstica suficiente para expresarse con claridad y sin tener que limitar lo que se quiere decir. El candidato tiene un buen dominio de un amplio repertorio léxico, incluidas expresiones idiomáticas y coloquiales.
SUPERIOR C2
El Diploma de Español Nivel Superior (C2) acredita la competencia lingüÃstica necesaria para desenvolverse en situaciones que requieran un uso elevado de la lengua y un conocimiento de los hábitos culturales que a través de ella se manifiestan.
Esta distribución cumple una extraordinaria función didáctica y pedagógica: cada uno de los niveles está programado de tal modo que —por sà mismos— cubren las exigencias de programación del semestre universitario. La metodologÃa utilizada es comunicativa, y gracias a esta el estudiante aprende la gramática básica y competencias comunicativas para enfrentar diversas situaciones.
Al finalizar cada nivel se entregará una certificación de asistencia y aprovechamiento de la Universidad de Panamá y del CELUP.

SPANISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The Carmen Guadalupe Córdoba Language Center of the University of Panama (CELUP) conducts semester courses of Spanish as a foreign language, whose levels correspond to those established in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR).
INITIAL A1
This diploma certifies that the person can function in situations of simple communication, related to areas of immediate need or very everyday topics.
INITIAL A2
It certifies that the candidate is able to understand frequently used phrases and everyday expressions related to areas of experience that are especially relevant to him (basic information about himself and his family, shopping, places of interest, occupations, etc.)
INTERMEDIATE B1
It accredits sufficient linguistic competence to understand and react appropriately to the most common situations of daily life and to communicate wishes and needs in a basic way.
INTERMEDIATE B2
It accredits sufficient linguistic competence to function in ordinary situations of daily life, in normal communication circumstances that do not require a specialized use of the language.
UPPER C1
It accredits sufficient linguistic competence to express oneself clearly and without having to limit what one wants to say. The candidate has a good command of a wide lexical repertoire, including idiomatic and colloquial expressions.
UPPER C2
The Higher Level Spanish Diploma (C2) certifies the linguistic competence necessary to function in situations that require a high use of the language and knowledge of the cultural habits that are manifested through it.
This distribution fulfills an extraordinary didactic and pedagogical function: each one of the levels is programmed in such a way that —by themselves— they cover the programming demands of the university semester. The methodology used is communicative, and thanks to this the student learns basic grammar and communicative skills to face various situations.
At the end of each level, a certificate of attendance and achievement will be delivered from the University of Panama and CELUP.
