• La profesora Irina de Ardila: La profesora es una erudita. Además de ser una especialista en el campo de la enseñanza del español a los extranjeros, tiene un conocimiento muy amplio de la literatura internacional y la historia del mundo, así como las culturas mundiales. En pocas palabras, ella es una mujer del Renacimiento. En el nivel personal ella es entretenida – ella no es sólo una persona muy interesante, sino una persona que dedica su atención toda a los demás, es decir, posee la rara calidad de ser tanto interesante como interesada al mismo tiempo.
• El libro de texto: «¡A qué no sabes…?» es una maravillosa colección de lecturas, los ejercicios de escrituras y los ejercicios gramaticales. Expone el estudiante serio de español a los matices del idioma.
• El horario de la clase: Prefiero una clase que comience a las 9 de la mañana en mi zona horaria. Vale la pena mencionar que a partir de la segunda semana de marzo a la primera semana de noviembre, «daylight savings time» está en efecto en los Estados Unidos - durante este período el tiempo es exactamente el mismo en los Estados Unidos y Panamá. Por otro lado, durante el resto del año, el tiempo en Panamá es una hora por delante del tiempo en EE.UU, es decir, cuando son las nueve de la mañana en Panamá, son las ocho en EE.UU.

• Professor Irina de Ardila: The professor is a scholar. In addition to being a specialist in the field of teaching Spanish to foreigners, she has a very broad knowledge of international literature and world history, as well as world cultures. Simply put, she is a Renaissance woman. On a personal level she is entertaining – she is not only a very interesting person, but a person who devotes her entire attention to others, that is, she possesses the rare quality of being both interesting and interested at the same time.
• The textbook: "¿A que no sabes...?" is a wonderful collection of readings, writing exercises and grammar exercises. It exposes the serious student of Spanish to the nuances of the language.
• The class schedule: I prefer a class that starts at 9 am in my time zone. It is worth mentioning that from the second week of March to the first week of November, "daylight savings time" is in effect in the United States - during this period the time is exactly the same in the United States and Panama. On the other hand, during the rest of the year, the time in Panama is one hour ahead of the time in the US, that is, when it is nine in the morning in Panama, it is eight in the US.

En el nuevo tiempo de aislamiento por la pandemia, es necesario adaptarse a la nueva realidad. El curso fue una agradable sorpresa pues la plataforma en linea, por la aplicación elegida por la profesora, se portó muy bien. El libro fue enviado por correo y todos hicimos las tareas y leímos juntos los textos. El hecho de no estarmos en classe no trajo dificultades. Tuvimos tiempo de conversación para practicar el español y también interactuar para nos conocer. Por supuesto no es igual a clases presenciales, todavía, en mi opinión la experiencia fue muy buena. Los problemas que surgieron durante las clases se debieron más a la inestabilidad de internet de cada alumno. La participación de los estudiantes ha sido constante a lo largo del curso. Además, recibimos materiales adicionales para discución en clase, lo que considero excelente para aprender sobre arte, literatura, política, lugares, con la opinión de todos. Felicito el Centro de Lenguas por la iniciativa y agradezco a la professora Irina por sus clases, siempre agradables e interesantes.

In the new time of isolation due to the pandemic, it is necessary to adapt to the new reality. The course was a pleasant surprise because the online platform, through the application chosen by the teacher, behaved very well. The book was mailed and we all did the homework and read the texts together. The fact that we were not in class did not bring any difficulties. We had conversation time to practice Spanish and also interact to get to know each other. Of course it is not the same as face-to-face classes, still, in my opinion the experience was very good. The problems that arose during the classes were due more to the instability of the internet of each student. The participation of the students has been constant throughout the course. In addition, we receive additional materials for class discussion, which I consider excellent for learning about art, literature, politics, places, with everyone's opinion. I congratulate the Language Center for the initiative and I thank Professor Irina for her classes, always pleasant and interesting.
